I Heart Anthropomorphism

Hello, Thursday! You're right on time. Where's Friday? Oh, right behind you? I swear, Friday is the slow-poke of the pack. Come on, already! Get the lead out, Fman!

So. Lost last night. Who saw it? Did it rock, or what?? And now, we must endure an entire summer of wandering what the heck is going on. Again. Oh, Lost. The way you string me along is shameless.

Not much else going on today, just the regular stuff. I am not sure what our plans for Memorial Day weekend are. We thought about driving up to Chattanooga and going to the Aquarium, but then I looked up ticket prices and GOOD GRIEF! Life's too expensive! We are just not at that point where we can drop a hundred dollars for an afternoon stroll through a fish tank, thank you very much. One day, yes. But till then, we'll just look up pictures of fish on the internet. (Awww, how sad does that sound?) Seriously, though. I want to be able to do things like that when we have the money for it, it's not that I'm cheap. But sakes alive. Do I have to sell a kidney to take the fam on a little vacation? Right now, a hundred dollars might as well be a thousand. And since we are trying to get into a house, we've got to keep a careful watch on our money. So, no trips to see the fishies.

I have been thinking about using the four day weekend to do another fast. It's been a while since I did one, and I think I'm due. It's not an entirely pleasant experience though, and I do hate wasting precious vacation days on something so unfun. If I decide to do it, I'll blog it again like I did last time.

Well, I should get. Kids need dressing, dishes need rinsing, and babies need snuggling. Have a happy day, everybody! See ya on the morrow.

You cannot fast on Sundays!!! It does no good to your soul, I tell ya! Those are days of celebration, requiring feasting with wine!!! So go get a bottle and get ready for the weekend! :-)

Lost was awesome last night, but it also confused the heck out of me. I mean, the whole "flashforward" thing instead of the regular flashback, what did it mean?

Posted by: Alison at May 24, 2007 1:51 PM

I just want you to know that at the beginning of Lost last night I made two predictions: 1) the "flashback" was a "flashfoward" and 2) Hurley would save the day.... damn I'm good.
Oh, and Denise can confirm this.

R.I.P. Charlie.

I know, I cried when Charlie drowned. Wah. I LOVE that he sang "You are Everybody" while he was tied up. Brilliantly funny.

I'm not totally convinced yet that Charlie's dead. Locke wasn't. Oh, and Wondergirl, I read somewhere, maybe the abc web site, that the new season of Lost wasn't going to return until mid-season so that they could just do 16 straight episodes without interruption. So, we have to wait EVEN LONGER before seeing it again. Argh!

I heard that, too! The dirty dogs! But, at least we know that it's supposed to run until 2010, so that's a small consolation.

What's your theory, Alison? What do you think is going on?

Posted by: WG at May 24, 2007 3:21 PM

I'm not sure anymore. Just when I think I've got it somewhat figured out, they totally blow me away with something new. Like the episode when Ben took Locke to meet "Jacob," that really threw me for a loop and freaked me out! My husband and I were talking with some friends last night after it was over, and we were all throwing around a few theories, but for the most part we're all lost. Ha-ha, no pun intended! What about you, any theories of your own?

Posted by: Alison at May 24, 2007 3:41 PM

Well, King Pen is certain that the Island is a remnant of Atlantis- and he makes a good arguement for it. But, gee whiz... when you start adding all the WEIRD things together, no theory seems to cover them all! I am as "Lost" as you are!!

I just hope the writers know what they're doing and aren't going to get lazy and say they're all in purgatory or something. That would bite!

So, who's funeral do you think Jack went to? Ben, Locke, Sawyer? I'm saying Ben.... for now.

I'm thinking that Ben was right - the people on the other end of the phone are bad - and they'll have to team up with the Others.

Posted by: Brian at May 24, 2007 6:45 PM

Well, when Jack showed up at the funeral and the guy asked him if he was friend or family, he said "either". That was a weird answer, don't ya think? So, maybe Juliette, if he ended up marrying her at some point... or Jack's dad, who some people say is NOT dead and is actually the head of all this stuff. (Jack's dad is one of the few characters that seems to have had contact with nearly every survivor!)

I can't think who else Jack might be related to, other than Claire, who is his sister apparently.

did you notice, in the "flashfowards," Jack told the doctor who was trying to help him, "Tell you what, go see my dad down the hall, and if I'm drunker than he is, I'll leave" - or something to that effect. He also made another reference to his dad. Hmmm.

Oh my gosh! You're right! I so missed that!!

Hey there, I have been soooo busy at school trying to get cleared away for the summer that I have not had time to check your blog until just now, and I so would have liked to have gotten into the above conversation about Lost! So I'm just going to jump in like I am on the same time frame you guys are! I almost called you when Locke opened his eyes.....I TOLD you he wasn't dead!!! But it kind of freaked me out for a minute when he was paralyzed. And the ending.....I don't LIKE fast forwards.........and I'm with you, WG, I remember Jack talking about his dad being down the hall, but at the time I stupidly thought it was a flashback! And until Brian mentioned it (up above) it didn't click that he would still be alive. As for whose funeral? Locke seems like the obvious choice to me (so it probably isn't him), not Sawyer (but only if he is not the "he" Kate referred to that would be wondering where she was) and again herew I want to assume the obvious, that if Kate is not with Jack then she must be with Sawyer...and how did she get out of the murder charges against her? Surely the charges wouldn't be dropped just because she had suffered a plane wreck? Anyway, just let me go on record as saying I DO NOT LIKE flashforwards....if the future is not rosy, then I'd just as soon wait til it happens to find out about it! Ok, sorry, I got carried away.......
