I Heart Y.N.

Last night at dinner, Czarina was regaling us with the day's happenings, and she was especially tickled with one pretend game she and HeroBoy had played earlier in the afternoon.

"We pretended that we got on a bus," -giggle, giggle- "and we road it all the way to our own house in You Nork!"

"You Nork?" we ask, barely able to contain our laughter.

"Yeah! You know, You Nork City!"

Yup. I've been there. It's nice this time of year.

(P.S. Say it to yourself. It's kind of addictive. Much better than the original!)

lol! We had a funny like that - our poor daughter had only read the word Utah so during a trip she asked, "Will we be passing through UH-tah."

I DO like saying You Nork better.

Oh, I love You Nork, too... I've been saying it all afternoon... You Nork... You Nork... You Nork... it's got a ring to it...

I just read your blog about You Nork to Casey (the one you made the sling for) and she said that her friend Mairel (pronounced Midell) was born in You Nork and THAT's what she always called it, too. :)

Unless Czarina actually spelled out the name of this fantastical city thereby codifying the name, I think it should be "Yew Nork."

Nope. You'd be wrong. There was a CLEAR pronunciation of "YOU". I thought about spelling it the other way, but it just didn't "look" right.

So, YEW can back off.
