What a Way To Make a Livin'

So here's my mannequin, sporting the Moxie sling, by BohoBaby. (oh, don't I sound all businessy?)

She's headless, armless, and babyless actually, but don't be too hard on her. She's working hard for the money. (So ya better treat her right.)

-Okay, no more drinking in the morning.-

Anyway, whatcha think? Is this photo website worthy? Would you feel confident purchasing this product based on the quality of the photo? Each sling will be photographed this way, as well as an upclose shot for the detail like this-

I'm nervous, y'all. Okay, that's putting it mildy. I'm a little bit freaking out about this whole thing. I won't go into the whys, but the closer I get to being officially open for business, the more I find myself thinking about the bliss of xanax. Or valium. Or tylenol pm.

Kidding.

I guess every venture poses the threat of failure, but you just have to hold your breath and jump in sometimes.

Right?

Um, somebody?

I think they're wonderful. Even if Casey hasn't figured out how to wear it yet. :)

I'm taking the picture of the manniquin to her tonight and showing her once more so we can see if Samantha will like it. I know I'd like it if I were a baby.

I married into a family of entrepreneurs and you are so right. My dad is SO, SO careful...while my husband is all about risk-taking. So far it's been worth it on our end. Of course...these "risks" are not taken without much prayer :). Your business is going to be great! I think the pictures are extremely professional. I've seen so many websites for these kinds of things that look totally "homemade"...yours does NOT! I'm impressed, it is obvious that you have put much, much thought into this whole venture. I can't wait to see the website up and running.

LOVE YOU!!

Bevely, I really hate that my instruction brochure wasn't done when you bought Casey's sling. I'll send you one as soon as it's printed! It can take a little practice to get the hang of it, but I promise you, it's worth it! There are so many benefits of babywearing!

WG,

I love both pictures and I think the slings look really well-made and beautiful. I would feel snappy and cute wearing that sling!

I would love to see a bambino -in- a sling too though. I think it would go farther to see how cozy a bebe can look in one.

My 2 cents. Can't wait to watch your success.

How would you feel about a profile shot too? Or possibly a "Mom's eye view" shot?

Posted by: Krista at March 7, 2008 11:29 AM

Krista, by moms eye view, do you mean looking down at the baby?

Problem with baby shots, I have no baby! Unless I used a baby doll, which seems a bit unprofessional.

The catch is, I can't use a model for every single photo because I am making tons of different slings. Each one will need a picture, and I can't arrange to have a model for every single shot.

I think it looks great, I'm excited for you!

she's hot!

i think they look great! wish i had looked like the model when i was using a sling!

Hey, you're not alone even though I'm, like, a gazillion miles away. I think the pictures look great.

I think the pics look good. Only you can tell whether it is an accurate photo of the fabric -- and you answered my question as to whether this was just to show the fabrics -- you will have live models scattered prettily throughout the website, right??? :-) BTW, skip the xanax, go for percocet! ;-)

I think the pictures are professional and the sling is so beautiful. Don't be afraid. This is what you have planned for so long now. It is a wonderful idea and the slings are awesome. They are going to sell like hot cakes once they are out there. The edge is your choices of fabric and those one of a kind slings that will not be available in Target or some baby store. Hoorah for you!

Love your slings, only wish I had a baby to wear in one! :)
As a fellow sewer, I think you'd really like the website www dot sewmamasew dot com - it links to blogs and projects of hip, crafty moms like you.

The pictures look great. Very professional. That's great that you found a way to make your photos to look so professional taking them yourself. That way, you can skip the middle man and just do the photography for BohoBaby yourself. Awesome job! I think the business will do great! I know I will be buying one from you the next go 'round!

I see what you mean.

Well, I love it. I never knew a sling could be so cute.
