Costumology

Well, it's that time of year again. Whoohoo! Halloween! This year, Czarina wants to be a Chinese Fighting Girl (which I love). She's got an authentic outfit from her uncle picked up on his travels to China, and I'm going to maker her a mask. HeroBoy wants to be Darth Vader, despite never seeing a single Star Wars movie. The Duke wants to be Batman, which is cute and easy because we already have half of that costume floating around here somewhere. And Chipmunk is completely at my mercy. Haven't decided on him yet, but I'm feeling creative. I wanna have fun with his, before he insists on being SpiderMan or a Power Ranger.

And of course, there's MY costume. What to be, what to be?

We'll trick-or-treat (cause we do that) Friday night in Monroe with some cousins, and then on Saturday, attend an All-Saint's Day Country Fair. It's going to be a GREAT weekend! Oh how I love October!

So, costumes. What are your kids gonna be-- and will you dress up, too? Do tell!!

Ad's going to be a turtle. And I won't be dressing up, but I am trying my best to get E to dress up like a hare, but so far its a no-go.

Can't wait to see pics!

We have a Boba-Fet (sp?), a masked Army Guy (I think he's fit for chemical warfare), Clone Trooper, Lucy (from Narnia), Iron Man, and one girly who is at my mercy like Chipmunk. There was a pretty cute bumble bee costume buzzing around somewhere. I hope I can find it. My man and I usually dress as Luther and his Katie (except when I'm pregnant and the costume doesn't fit).

Glad you linked your post from last year! Saved me the trouble of looking it up.

I'm glad y'all will be in Funroe for the weekend!

I like coordinating costumes. We've done Group 1 - dog and cat. Group 2 - Knight, princess, and dragon. This year may be the last that I can pull that off without having to work in a superhero. :)

Aww...y'all just made me think back about our Halloweens when my 3 had coordinating costumes. We had Tink, Peter Pan, and Captain Hook one year. Too cute. Wednesday, Pugsley, and Uncle Fester one other year. We had cute plans for several years til one boy inisisted on being Thomas the Tank Engine for about 3 years running. Now, they insist on being something creepy. And the eldest announced he's too big for it all this year. (sigh)

Goro wants to help pass out candy as a vampire.
Birdie wants to be a cat.
Princerella wants to be a witch
CowBoy wants to be firefighter.
Bairno (at my mercy and because we already have it) is going to be a cowboy.
Me? don't know yet.

You don't know me. I'm one of those people who found you through the friend of a friend's blog. Every once in awhile I check your blog and I really enjoy reading it. You are a very gifted writer and we're at a similar place in life. I'm about to have our fourth child and I'm homeschooling our oldest. I just wanted to say thanks for your post about Halloween that you posted a link to. It was really helpful to me and I hope you don't mind that I referenced it on my blog today. My husband and I have been trying to find a reformed, godly perspective on Halloween for years. Thanks for clearing some muddy waters and thanks for the awesome blog and godly example.
