Help From You
Some of you have mentioned that you'd like some BohoBaby business cards or brochures to have on hand. They FINALLY came in, and they're cute as buttons. So if you are still interested, please email me your address and I'll send you a media kit. I LOVE YOU. Thank you, seriously. You guys have been so supportive and encouraging through this whole thing, and I really, truly appreciate it. Your comments have helped to push this through all the way! If I didn't think it was culturally inappropriate, I'd give you a big smack on the lips. But we don't do that in America. Germs, and all. We do hearty handshakes and backslaps, and genteel hugs. So consider yourself genteely hugged. Because we're way past handshakes and backslaps, aren't we? I mean, we're tight, right?
Oh, and by the way. This week, there will be blogging. Kids are headed out of town for a few days, and the Sift is getting some much needed attention. It's been acting out lately... coming home late... sassing me under it's breath... I can tell we need some quality time together. There is talk of a putt-putt golf outing, but I don't want to spoil the surprise.
Okay, I'm out. Y'all let me know (thesiftATyahoo.com) if you want the kit, or leave a comment and I'll repond back to it directly. Thank you, my little cherry blossoms!
PS-- As an alternative, I could email you a digital copy of the card and flyer, but that seems like more trouble than it's worth. Just making it available, though.

BohoBaby Winner!
Hollie won the giveaway over at Musings of a Housewife! There were over 140 entries, and a Sift reader won! How do ya like that? Thanks for participating, everybody. I wish you all could have won! Oh, and I'll be handing out cokes for those of you who helped promote this little venture-- thank you so much. In addition, Hollie, you can look for a little lagniappe to come with your sling, as I promised if she selected a Sift reader.
In related news, I've taken extra fabric from my slings and made a few tote bags. They are TOO cute. I don't know what to do with them, though. Sell them? I've given a few as gifts. This one, I just had to keep myself:

The purple lining is such a delicious color that I want to eat it. I am eager to wear it out, and may have to settle on a trip to Kroger just to go show it off.
Anyway... so, thoughts on these? I could make them in addition to the slings- they take me about the same time. But cost-wise, what would you say? They have a pocket on the inside, and a shape-holding piece in the bottom. They are basic, but well made and durable. And they cost me nothing out of pocket, as they are made from my remnants stash.
Advise!

BoHoHappy
Yoohoo! Guess what? Next week, Musings of a Housewife, a very nifty blog, is going to be hosting a Give-Away. And what, you ask, is she giving away? Well, that would be a BohoBaby sling. Yesiree bob! So check out her site on Monday, follow her directions, and maybe she'll pick one of you'ns! If she, by chance, chooses a Sift reader, then I'm gonna throw in something extra, because we're buds. We're tight like that. I really, really hope one of you guys wins!! Dolly? Jeannette? Laura? Wouldn't that be cool? You don't have to be pregnant to try for it though-- they make nice gifts, too.
Here's my graphic for the Give-Away-- whatcha think? Don't even ask how long it took me to figure out the watermark. It's embarrassing.
And, also, look what a lovely satisfied customer sent me! A picture of her wearing a BohoBaby sling! My heart swelled with happiness and she became my new best friend instantly. We're ordering the BFF necklaces and calling each other to coordinate our clothes for the next day. (Thank you for referring her to me, Brandy. Too bad I probably just spooked her away from ever speaking to me again.) Isn't her baby cute? I want one. Okay, no. Yes. No. Yes. No. (So forth and so on.)
Anyway, that's what's been keeping me hopping lately. Besides a massive plumbing problem that had us sans toilets and baths since last night!! Mama mia!
Even with that, though... Isa happy.
More tomorrow on coffee dates, cinco de Mayo, box turtles, and the never ending hunt for fabric. Tune in. You don't wanna miss that excitement.

Spiffing Up
I'm going to bed y'all. I'm pooped. But before I go, let me encourage you to check out my new banner over at Etsy. Doesn't King Pen rock?
Nothing like a little PDA- a public display of appreciation- to show my wifely gratitude. Thanks, babe!

BohoBaby
Guys, you're gonna laugh, but I did manage to get ONE item up on my Etsy store. Now that I've done it once, I can use the format to put up additional slings tomorrow. Check it out if you have a minute, and let me know what you think. Input is welcome, even if it's to point out a typo or such. I know it's not much, and this is not really my launching announcement, just a timid hello. Baby steps, right? Here's the link, or you can click the nifty little widget in my sidebar under Day Job.

The JAY OH BEE
For those of you waiting with bated breath:
King Pen has accepted a job in Birmingham, AL! YippiehallelujahcallifrajalisticAMEN! I feel, literally, about a ton lighter.
We thought we'd have to go to a big metropolis to get the money and yada yada yada-- but turns out, we don't. Birmingham will fit us just perfectly, I can tell. It's close to family, it's clean and charming and rolling, all things that make me smiley.
Now. To the task at hand. Let the relocation begin!

Feedback
Hey guys- is my sidebar in the right place on your browser? It should be on the right side of the page, not the bottom.

Backstage
Okay, still working out the kinks in the design, but isn't it looking AWESOME? Originally, I had King Pen working on a graphic for me, but then I found this one and fell in love. King Pen didn't want to say it, but he was really too busy for my little project at the moment anyway. So this one came from an old comic cover, and I tweaked it some to make it suit my needs. However, I had difficulty getting everything positioned on the page the way I wanted, and my good friends at Terrablogs gave me a hand. Ron, in particular, has REALLY gone above and beyond. This is why I love Terrablogs. They host my blog for free, and are constantly doing things to improve the experience, PLUS they will step in and give you personal help that you'd normally pay big bucks for! It's one of those rare things on the internet, one of those things that make you shake your head and say, this has GOT to be too good to be true! As a blogger, I can honestly say, you will not find a blog service like this anywhere else. Thanks, guys.
So besides the design, I am slowly adding the archives back in. It is a long, tedious process, so I don't expect to be done with that anytime soon. But, I'm making progress, and eventually, the Sift will be finished, I declare it so. And it will rock.
Okay, to work!!

Okay, geniuses. I need some help!! I'm trying to scoot my sidebar image up, to where it overlaps the banner. I've scoured the net, but my brain just won't absorb that level of code. Help!!

Let Me See You One, Two Step
You know, I'm starting to wonder if the warm weather is bringing out the crazy people. There have been a rash of strange visitors to my work lately-- the guy with the lady's slippers, the old preacher who played his harmonica with his nose while clacking his dentures (did I mention him?), and that lady with the toilet paper doorag around her head...
Well, today this girl in maybe her early 20's came up to my desk looking for her sister. I entered the name in the computer to find out what room she was in, and while I was doing that, this girl started dancing. I mean, like really dancing. Booty shaking, club hopping, ghettolicious, to absolutely no music at all. I can only conclude that she did this for my own personal entertainment. Somehow, somehow, I did not fall out laughing. But I wanted to... oh so bad.
I love the crazy folk. And apparently, they like me, too.
Which is actually kind of scary, come to think of it.

I Hate That I Said This:
"No, I'm sorry sweetie, we'll play later... Mommie has to get ready for work."
I think the frowny face is highly appropriate at the moment.

I need help! I want to close commenting for the holidays while I'm on my break because spam ISN'T what I asked for this year. Can someone tell me how to do that? I've seen some perl coding floating around on the internet for that, but uh... yeah, I don't even know what that is, so ayudame, por favor!!
Gracias.

I'm Calling Dr. Phil
Our computer is up to something.
It's always had an attitude problem, that's nothing new. We're used to the stubborn, illogical, sullen behavior. It's like having a teenager in the house. But now, it's working on something. Something it doesn't want us to know about, because it waits until we're asleep. We catch it late at night, crunching away at some secret project. It's signing itself onto the internet, and having clandestine meetings with other rogue computers at 2 a.m. They're going into chatrooms, talking bad about us, and spreading nasty viruses amonst themselves. Maybe it's just been running with a bad crowd, I don't know. But it's got to stop.
Do you hear me, Computer? You're this close to having your modem taken away.
Don't you roll your eye at me! I'll unplug your webcam faster than you can download your next virus, Mister. (which I guess is not that fast, considering the dial-up.)
Sigh.

Terrablogs Problems Solved
It's been a weird month at the terrablogs sites: chattablogs, nolablogs, covblogs, etc. And you know who's to blame? George Bush. No, I'm kidding. It's the spammers.
After being thwarted by MT Blacklist, they got mean, and creative. They started spamming in the middle of the night, then they started crashing the server with their voodoo in order to spam us unencumbered. When the administrators (Josiah and the Posse) started fighting fire with fire, the evil spammers decided that if they couldn't have their way with Terrablogs, then NOBODY would enjoy it, and they started an ugly assault that forced an emergency upgrade to MT3. We lost commenting abilities for a day or so, but that's been restored. We're now on a nice, shiny new server that so far, is the cat's meow.
Things should be settling down now, and we can all get back to blissfully blogging about gorging on Christmas goodies and facing the horrors of the shopping mall in mid-December. Ya know. The usual.
Let Josiah know how much you 'preciate his hardwork, FREE hardwork, I should mention. The kid doesn't get paid for this, so give him a slap on the back, and drop a penny in the tipjar. You just don't get this kind of service at blogger.
Long live Terrablogs!!

Shhh.... Quiet
Maybe if we don't make any noise, they won't think anybody's home.
Comments are off for a day or so, as Josiah gets things tightened up. You're in our sights, spammers. Your days are numbered.
To all my non-spammers, please come back and comment later. Please? *puppy dog eyes*

MT Blacklist Question
Okay. I have my preference set to recieve email notification when someone comments, so that I can catch the spammers. BUT, sometimes, they get around it, and I don't recieve an email when the spammers comment, so I can't "despam" in the normal way. I don't know how they do it, those wily dogs. Anyway-- most of it seems to come from bob@somethingoranother.com Is there a way to ban an email address that starts with bob@"whatever"?
Come on geniuses. I need some help. Bob is making me nuts.

Your Company's Computer Guy
won't make house calls unless you pay him. The sorry sucker.
So being poor and stubborn, we're attempting to fix our very sick computer ourselves. (note, this is quite possibly a Very Bad Idea.) I can only blog from work right now *looking around nervously*. So, I'm gonna have to take a break for a few days until the old girl is up and running again, if she can be revived at all.
A quick and easy solution to this problem (and one I'm heavily encouraging): Buy me a new computer! This guarantees you non-stop, hip-hop, cutting-edge my blog action, 24/7. Beck and call, baby. I'll blog till the break of dawn, I'll blog like it's 1999. You can't stop this blog machine because I'm crazzzzy cool.
Okay, okay, I'm going. You're not even going to miss me, are you?

Farewell, Sweet Chattablogs
Well, I'm packing it up, and moving to nolablogs. Josiah has created a new terrablog domain for us South Lousianians, and I'm gonna break it in for him.
So, get ready to change your links for me, starting this weekend. There will be a redirect from my chattablogs url, so just hang on while we get it figured out.
Don't leave me, dear readers. my blog is a co-dependant blog and needs all the lovin' it can get.
We have abandonment issues over here.

Chattabye
Josiah the Ever Expanding is creating a blogsite just for Louisiana bloggers. We'll have the choice of monroeblogs or nolablogs. This is a REALLY good opportunity for my gang out there who've been talking about blogging (or I would just like to see doing it) to get on the bandwagon! I'll name some names. Rachel. Rhonda. Joey. Amy. Hey, even you Shelby! All you have to do is shoot Josiah an email, or leave a comment on his blog, and he'll get you hooked up. It's nothing to be intimidated by on a technical level, because blogging is easy, and there are lots of people (including yours truly) who are ready to help ya.
Anyway, as things get up and running, I'll keep you updated on any changes.

Help
I know there are spam comment blockers that you can put on your blog, but I don't know how to do it. Can somebody talk me through it? As big a fan of lipitor as you guys know that I am, I will not be a big advertising board.
Take that ye vile spammers.
